You'll ride a section of the Around The Mountains Cycle Trail on the second day, a dedicated cycle path that allows you to enjoy the scenery of sheep & cattle country surrounded by spectacular mountains free from traffic, passing through rich farm lands.
Queenstown Trail and Around The Mountains Cycle Trail are both New Zealand's 22 Great Rides, part of Nga Haerenga - the New Zealand Cycle Trail.
In the heart of Fiordland National Park, you'll hike on the world-famous Routeburn Track to Key Summit and enjoy a majestic overnight cruise amidst spectacular Milford Sound, with options to swim or kayak. When all the tourists have left at dusk, the fiord transforms into a peaceful scene of dramatic landscape. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere and get a sense of the serenity that the fiord offers. You'll have many opportunities for wildlife spotting such as penguins, seals and dolphins as well as learning about the history and natural environment of the fiord.
This sensational cycle journey concludes with a tour of a high country sheep station, afternoon tea and a boat transfer across Lake Wakatipu back to Queenstown.
