Begin your 10-day journey with four magical days onboard the Indian Pacific from Sydney to Perth, the Pacific Ocean to the Indian. With a history built on the lives of bush pioneers, gold rush prospectors and near-mythical adventurers, this legendary train evokes a frontier spirit, a romantic connection to the land, and travelling on it creates a moving and unforgettable life experience.
Over 4,352 kilometres, including the longest stretch of straight railway track in the world, you’ll discover a world of contrasts: the towering majesty of the Blue Mountains to the barren expanse of the Nullarbor, from cities of four million to ghost towns of four. To help you make the most of each stop, you’ll have access to unique Off Train Excursions to suit every fitness level. Discover the artistic culture and mining history of Broken Hill, ‘the silver city’. Embark a guided tour of Adelaide CBD or venture out to the Adelaide Hills or to the world-famous Barossa Valley or McLaren Vale wine regions (seasonal). Immerse yourself in pure jackaroo country in the outback outposts of Cook and Rawlinna, where you’ll enjoy the tranquillity of dinner under the brilliant desert stars (seasonal). You’ll arrive into Perth having completed one of the world’s great travel experiences.
You’ll stay in a private cabin onboard the Indian Pacific, either a Gold Single or Gold Twin. The Gold Single features a bed that converts to a seat by day with shared shower/toilet facilities located at the end of the carriage, while the Gold Twin features a upper and lower berths that convert to a three seater lounge by day with a private ensuite. Your cabin is the perfect place to relax and recharge before heading to the lounge or dining carriage.
Upon arrival in Perth, you’ll have time to explore the city at your leisure before travel by air to Exmouth. Your accommodation for the next three nights is Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef, Western Australia’s most famous beachside safari camp. Here, you’ll have the lifechanging opportunity to swim with humpback whales or whale sharks on the breathtaking Ningaloo Reef!
This once-in-a-lifetime journey includes 9-nights’ accommodation: 3-nights’ onboard the Indian Pacific (all-inclusive), 3-nights at the Duxton Perth (daily breakfast) and 3-nights at Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef (chef-prepared meals, snacks and beverages, National Park entrance fees and guided wilderness activities).
