Departing from Broome, hit the red dirt road for an adventure to remote Cape Leveque on the tip of the Dampier Peninsula. This pristine and rugged slice of the Kimberley is renowned for its Aboriginal heritage and the striking colours of the landscape, where dramatic red-rock cliffs meet pure white sand and turquoise water.
With a local Bardi Jawi guide, set out on an amazing adventure around the turquoise waters of Hunters Creek. Gain insight into the traditional ways of the Bardi people and try your hand at traditional fishing and crabbing, where you’ll have the chance to cook and eat your own catch.
Next, head even deeper into the Kimberley, this time by seaplane. Your destination is Horizontal Falls, an astonishing and unique ‘sideways’ waterfall that David Attenborough once described as “one of the greatest natural wonders of the world”. Touching down in the calm waters of Talbot Bay, set off on an exhilarating high-speed boat ride through the falls followed by a relaxing cruise of the surrounding area. Other highlights of the day include a second scenic seaplane flight over the thousand islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago, two scenic cruises through the islands aboard a luxury cruiser, a chance to swim in a marine viewing cage and a delicious BBQ Barramundi lunch!
You’ll stay three-nights at Kooljaman, a remote wilderness camp owned and run by the Indigenous Bardi Jawi communities. Enjoy access to a delicious café and restaurant specialising in the little-known flavours of Australia’s native foods, and spend your free time swimming, snorkelling, boating and whale watching (in season).
