    Over four incredible days, explore the world-famous Tongariro and beyond on foot, on wheels and by canoe. Hike the Tongariro Alpine Crossing & Mt Ruapehu, paddle up the Whanganui River - New Zealand's only Great Walk by canoe, and ride on the Old Coach Road (a section of the Mountains to Sea Cycle Trail). This unique and spectacular adventure takes you beyond the clutches of modern civilisation and enjoy the some of the best New Zealand views.

    Rated as New Zealand’s best day walk, trek amidst the incredible Tongariro volcanoes is an experience not to be missed. Hike Mt Ruapehu, the highest (2797m) mountain of the three active andesitic volcanoes in the Tongariro National Park, and encounter up close old lava flows, active craters and volcanic peaks.

    Explore the scenic beauty of Whanganui National Park paddling up the Whanganui River, a landscape of remote hills and bush clad valleys. Visit the world famous Bridge to Nowhere, and listen to the stories of the river and of years gone by.

    On your final day, ride along the historic cobblestone Old Coach Road through a bush corridor on the slopes of Mount Ruapehu through the pumice and papa ridges and valleys off the Central Plateau, created by the eruption of Lake Taupo not so long ago.

    This is a fully guided and all-inclusive 4-day walking, canoeing and cyclingtour, hosted by experienced local guides. Your small group (maximum 10) will walk 6 - 8 hours, paddle 4 - 5 hours and cycle 2 - 3 hours each day. You will only need to carry a day pack allowing more flexibility to immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes.

    At the end of each day you will return to your accommodation, Chateau Tongariro Hotel, a 4-star historic hotel set spectacularly against Mt Ruapehu, in the heart of the National Park where you will enjoy great New Zealand food each evening.

    This cycle adventure is a 5 day/4 night guided tour on the Otago Central Rail Trail, a scenic and historic journey into the Central Otago heartland. You'll cycling 4 to 5 hours per day on a vehicle free trail with an easy gradient, traversing ever-changing mountainous, rugged landscapes, tunnels, viaducts, spectacular river gorges, old historic gold-mining villages and more. 

    You will soon to understand why Otago Central Rail Trail is favoured by so many cyclists. You can get a Rail Trail Passport, which can be stamped at every historic station you pass through. You will ride passing many beautiful Mountain ranges, Rock and Pillar Range, the Kakanuis, Rough Ridge, Raggedy Range, the Hawkduns and the Dunstan Range. But you won't have to climb any of them, because the trail follows an old railway line. You will ride through many charming historic townships, with cafés and restaurants showcasing the region’s fantastic food, wine and beer. Let your thoughts wander to the next meal, because great food, wine and craft beer are part of this amazing adventure.

    You'll be supported with a local experienced tour guide and support vehicle while you are on the trail. The guides are passionate and knowledgeable about the trail and the area and this will all add to making this a tour to remember.

    Accommodation is included each night at old historic hotels. You luggages will be transferred to accommodation. You only need to carry a daypack.

    All meals are included for the duration of the cycling tours as noted in the itinerary.
