You will be picked up on your arrival in Vancouver midday. Set off on an afternoon excursion through the city. Surrounded by snow-dusted mountains, lush forests, and sandy beaches, this modern metropolis is enveloped by natural beauty.
Explore Stanley Park, a stunning urban green space crisscrossed by a network of nature paths. Walk the famous Seawall—lined by temperate rainforest and the shimmering blue waters of Vancouver Harbour—for incredible views of the skyline.
This evening gathers with your fellow travellers for a welcome reception and dinner.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the train depot this morning and board the Rocky Mountaineer, settling into one of its two-level, glass-domed coaches.
As you ride the rails in luxury accommodations, enjoy breathtaking mountain views. Highlights along this leg of the journey include the thunderous rapids of Fraser Canyon, where up to 200 million gallons of water can flow per minute, and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River.
Disembark at Kamloops and spend the evening exploring this mountain town at your leisure.
Continue your journey by The Rocky Mountaineer. It brings you farther north today, entering the Canadian Rockies and offering increasingly dramatic panoramic views.
You’ll ride by Pyramid Creek Falls, a glacier-fed cascade that flows out of a hanging valley, and over the Continental Divide at Yellowhead Pass. Our train voyage culminates as we glide by Mount Robson; with craggy peaks reaching heights of nearly 13,000 feet, this behemoth boasts the tallest summit in the Canadian Rockies.
This evening, arrive in Jasper National Park and check in to your lakeside lodge, nestled within a forested valley in the heart of the park.
Get immersed in the pristine beauty of Jasper National Park’s glacier-sculpted landscapes over the next two days.
Travel through the park to Maligne Lake, watching for moose, elk, and caribou along the way. On a scenic boat cruise, skim across the lake's turquoise water, taking in a backdrop of staggering peaks. Enjoy dinner in town or at the lodge on your own.
The next day, enjoy a float trip on the Athabasca River, keeping an eye out for wildlife while surrounded by the stunning scenery of Jasper National Park. Alternatively, soar into the mountains via the Jasper SkyTram, reaching a lookout point over 7,000 feet above sea level. Take in 360 degree views that include six surrounding mountain ranges, glacier-fed lakes, rivers, and the town of Jasper.
In the afternoon, venture out for an optional hike before dinner together this evening.
Today, you travel along the scenic Icefields Parkway toward Banff National Park, stopping en route at the Athabasca Glacier. This ice mass is part of the Columbia Icefield and is the largest in a chain of glaciers along Canada’s Great Divide Trail. Set out with a skilled guide on a trekking expedition across the glacier and get an up-close look at its fascinating geology.
This afternoon, arrive at our accommodations at the historic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, situated on the dazzling alpine lake in Banff known for its sparkling blue waters. Take time upon your arrival to walk the grounds and lakeshore trail before enjoying dinner on your own at one of the many dining options on the property.
Spend the day exploring Banff and Yoho National Parks. With your guide's knowledgeable interpretation, delve into the spectacular landscapes surrounding Lake Louise on a series of hikes through stretches of wildflowers to pristine lakes. Discover Moraine Lake whose surface mirrors a skyscraping set of ice-clad summits, and Emerald Lake, fringed by fragrant pine forests.
Stop for a picnic lunch, then take in the view of the Spiral Tunnels of the Canadian Pacific Railway, an engineering feat dating back to 1909. At the Yoho National Park Visitor Centre, browse the interactive exhibits about the Burgess Shale, one of the most important fossil deposits ever discovered.
Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner back at the lodge.

The tour operator is at the mercy of nature in all her beauty and all her fury. The tour operator will under no circumstance knowingly place at risk the health and well-being of our guests and guides. In the case of natural threats, acts of God and the like (e.g. bushfires, impassable snow, etc) the tour operator may need to cancel a walk with very little notice. In some cases, this can occur after the walk has commenced. The tour operator reserves the right to cancel any walk up to 60 days prior to departure if a minimum of 4 walkers are unable to meet for a tour. If the tour operator needs to cancel for any reason, the cost of the walk or any other costs associated with travel to the designated pick up point, overnight accommodation, meals, etc will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore we strongly recommend travel insurance be taken out prior to travel.Force Majeure'Force Majeure' means (without restriction) any event which Onlyluxe Travel or its third party providers could not, even with due care, foresee or avoid. Force Majeure covers events such as, but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events beyond our control. In the case of Force Majeure Onlyluxe Travel will not accept liability, and reserves the right to change and cancel trips.EvacuationsIn rare circumstances, due to injury or unforeseen illness, the tour operator may need to evacuate you from a remote part of the walk. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.Travel InsuranceIn view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
