Northern Territory

One of the largest remote regions, the Northern Territory is the least inhabited area of Australia, yet one of the most curious. It is nearly impossible to travel to the Red Centre without visiting and viewing the changing colours of the sunset over the iconic Uluru/Ayers Rock, but beyond that lies Kings Canyon, a place of indigenous importance where you can enjoy one of the best spots for hiking. Travel to the Top End and you will be amazed by the contrast in landscape inside Kakadu National Park, boasting 20,000 year old rock art and a indigenous culture dating back more than 65,000 years. Watch the sunset over the Nadab Floodplain at Ubirr Rock Lookout or take a refreshing dip in one of the many secluded water holes in Litchfield National Park. Head even further north and you can experience true, rustic island living on Bremer or Tiwi Island.
