Difficulty: Easy
Departing from Kununurra, take the scheduled 4WD shuttle to El Questro Wilderness Park, your home away from home for the next four days. A destination unlike any other, El Questro is the perfect base from which to discover the untamed beauty of the East Kimberley region, one of Australia’s last true frontiers.
A cruise on the calm waters of Chamberlain Gorge is one of the best introductions to El Questro. As you glide alongside cliffs stretching over 60-metres (200-foot), enjoy a glass of sparkling wine and fresh fruit and keep a look out for rock wallabies and Johnston crocodiles. Be sure to ask your ranger about feeding the cheeky Archerfish and Barramundi!
In the evening, enjoy a delicious three-course meal before retiring to your Riverview Room.
Difficulty: Moderate
After a hearty breakfast, enjoy a picturesque guided walk over rocky terrain to Emma Gorge, where you will be rewarded with cascading waterfalls and the opportunity to cool off in the water below.
After, travel a short distance to the thermal Zebedee Springs surrounded by towering Livistonia palm, lush pandanus and vibrant red cliffs. On this tour, you will enjoy private access to this true oasis.
Upon your return to the Station, enjoy a late lunch of beef or barramundi and an afternoon to explore at your leisure. Relax on the riverbank, swim in the tranquil swimming hole or else enjoy a cold beverage at the nearby Swinging Arm Bar restaurant.
At sunset, let your expert guide choose the best lookout for you to watch the sky bleed red, orange and pink. Enjoy sparkling wine, beer, soft drinks, juice and a cheese plate while Mother Nature puts on one of her most spectacular shows.
For dinner, enjoy another delicious 3-course meal.
After a hearty breakfast, your driver will pick you up in a 4WD to circumnavigate the mighty Cockburn Range along the Karunjie Track. Prior to the completion of the Gibb River Road, the Karunjie Track was the original route from Derby to Wyndham and onto the Northern Territory. In earlier years, drovers brought thousands of cattle along this track to the meatworks at Wyndham. These days, it’s a stunning scenic drive with the Cockburn Range rising over 600 metres (1969 feet) like a vast round fortress above the plains.
After a delicious gourmet lunch, explore Cockburn Range’s majestic orange cliffs and look out for the deep gorges and permanent pools that lie hidden within.
Upon your return to the Station, enjoy a free evening to do as you please.
After one last breakfast, say farewell to El Questro and get ready to depart via the scheduled 4WD shuttle back to Kununurra.
Speak to our agents if you wish to upgrade your return transfer to a scenic flight. Or, if you wish to extend your stay to include other Kimberley highlights such as Bungle Bungle (Purnululu National Park), Lake Argyle and the Argyle Diamond Mind.

Overnight, temperatures decrease to become considerably cool by early morning and sunrise. Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer. For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.Travel InsuranceIn view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
