Alice Springs 60 Minute Balloon Flight

Your adventure begins pre-dawn, with the balloons inflation as the sun lights up the rugged MacDonnell Ranges. Whilst floating gently in the air you will appreciate the vast remoeteness, scenery and wildlife od Australian outback. Wildlife, particularly big red kangaroos are seen nearly every day as your balloon crosses spinifex grasses, mulga scrub and cattle stations. At the ballooning landing site, there is time to enjoy the desert tranquillity as light refreshments accompanied by sparkling wine and tropical fruit juice are served. A flight of a lifetime!

Flight distance will typically be between 10 and 20 kilometres. The balloon flight takes place approximately 15 kilometres to the south of Alice Springs adjacent to the MacDonnell Ranges and over the historic Owen Springs Cattle Station.

Return transfers from all accommodation in Alice Springs is included with every flight. Pick up time is approximately 1 hour before first light – time will be given when booking and exact time will be confirmed when you re-confirm the day prior to flight booked. Transfers (at the end of tour) to the airport or other tours are available on request.

Clothing Recommendations: It is recommended clients wear practical outdoor clothing including long pants, sturdy footwear and a hat. In the winter months it is essential to wear heavy clothing including beanie and gloves.

Fitness Level: A reasonable level of fitness is required to participate in our hot air ballooning tours. Participants must be able to climb into the balloon basket and stand upright for the duration of the flight. All health conditions should be discussed with Outback Ballooning prior to departure.

Departure Time: Pick up time is approximately 1 hour before first light- exact pick up will be given when booking but may be adjusted when passenger reconfirms the day prior to flight booked.

Not Included: Mandatory aviation insurance is payable direct on the morning of the flight.

* A mandatory Civil Aviation Authority Insurance is included in the advertised price above. The insurance charge is $30 per person. 

* Children 3-5 years are not recommended but considered on an individual basis. 

* Depending on many operational factors, which vary each day, passengers may be on the ground or in the balloon when the sun is actually coming over the horizon or rising, either way you will still see an amazing dawn.

* You will enjoy approximately 60 minutes of ballooning. On occasion, the flight time may be two separate, sequential 30 minute flights taken one directly after the other with a short changeover in between the two flights, depending on operational restrictions. You will be notified the day prior should this be the case on the day of your flight.
